Who is responsible

Velmere is operated by Catorcommerce, Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number 85850144, VAT ID NL004156532B14. Catorcommerce is responsible for the personal information it processes for the Velmere storefront, orders and customer support. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the store, information may include your name, email address, telephone number, account details, messages and information you choose to send us. When ordering is available, it may also include billing and delivery details, products ordered, transaction records, payment status, and information needed to handle support, returns or complaints.

Shopify and services used to operate the store may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages and actions, cookie identifiers and consent choices. Payment information is handled through the payment providers offered at checkout; we receive the transaction information needed to administer an order. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information through the contact form.

Why information is used

We use relevant information to operate and secure the store, respond to enquiries, administer accounts and orders, arrange payment and fulfilment, manage complaints and applicable consumer remedies, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Service and usage information may also be used to understand and improve the store. Optional advertising and email marketing are subject to the choices and consent requirements described below.

Legal grounds and consent

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to take steps you request before an order, perform a contract, meet legal obligations, or pursue legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, taking account of your rights. We obtain consent for optional tracking and marketing where required. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Using the store does not by itself constitute consent to optional marketing or tracking.

Shopify and other service providers

Shopify hosts the storefront and provides commerce, checkout, security and related platform services. Shopify processes information to provide these services and may also process information for its own purposes as described in its Privacy Policy and Consumer Privacy Policy. Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for this store. Through this feature, Shopify uses customer information from interactions with this store together with information from other Shopify merchants and Shopify to support enhanced services, including product improvements, advertising targeting and personalisation. Shopify processes this information as described in its Consumer Privacy Policy, including where it is responsible for that processing.

Where used for an order, payment providers and fulfilment or shipping partners receive the information needed to perform their roles. Service providers supporting communications, analytics or marketing receive information relevant to those services when they are used and applicable permissions have been obtained. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, where necessary to meet a legal obligation or lawful request, protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable protections. We do not publish customer details in order to provide support.

Cookies, analytics and marketing choices

Essential cookies and similar technologies support functions such as security, cart and checkout. Optional analytics and advertising technologies, where enabled, are governed by applicable consent requirements and your choices. Use the store's cookie preferences where available, or your browser's controls. You can also visit the Shopify privacy portal to exercise relevant rights, withdraw consent or object to Shopify's processing for enhanced services, including advertising. Browser settings may affect store functionality.

Meta advertising technologies, including the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, are enabled for this store. Relevant browsing and commerce events and identifiers may be shared with Meta to measure and personalise advertising, subject to applicable consent, privacy and opt-out requirements. Our data-sharing settings may support advanced matching of events where permitted. If email marketing is enabled, your contact details and relevant preferences may be used for marketing communications where permitted. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary order or service messages.

This description does not indicate that every optional tool is installed or active. New integrations or materially different uses require the appropriate notice, choices and permissions before they are introduced.

International processing

Catorcommerce operates from the Netherlands and initially serves customers in Canada. Shopify and other service providers may process information in other countries. Information processed abroad may be subject to those countries' laws and lawful access by authorities. Where applicable law requires additional safeguards for an international transfer, the relevant transfer arrangements must meet those requirements. Contact us for information about the arrangements that apply to your information.

Retention and security

Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described, including order administration, support, applicable accounting and legal obligations, fraud prevention and the establishment or defence of claims. The relevant purpose, legal requirements and outstanding matters determine retention. We use appropriate organisational and technical measures to protect information, but no transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct your information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive portable information, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain uses. Rights are subject to applicable conditions and legal exceptions. Send a request to support@shopvelmere.com. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records; we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

You may contact us with a complaint and may also complain to the relevant privacy regulator. Depending on your circumstances this may include the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or a competent provincial authority. Contacting us does not remove your right to approach a regulator.

Children and policy changes

The store is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us. We may update this notice to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements, providing additional notice or obtaining consent where required.
